That looks like a Maurelii.

Thanks Carol. It was marked as Ensete ventricosum when I bought it years ago but I just looked up the difference between the two and you are correct, 'Maurelii' is the one with more red on the leaves. I will move both photos.

That's a Sauromatum venosum, had it for years in a pot and one year it didn't come back.

Thanks Sue. Thought so. I have a few coming in this Spring. Any ideas as to the reason for it's demise?

Not sure, I suspect it rotted perhaps from too much rain. It's a cool looking plant!
