Dave would you add the species 'heuffelii' to the Jovibarba Genus?

Lynn,

Because of the upcoming changes, the different species under this plant will go away and all plants in the Jovibarba genus will match this parent plant and inherit its databox information.

So, I'll be removing all the species from that list and just let them all match.

Does this sound accurate to what you want? Or would you prefer that this parent only match certain species inside this genus?

Lynn,

Now that I have done much of the parent plant work today, I am reviewing the Jovibarba issue.

It turns out, we have two Jovibarba parent plants.

Jovibarba heuffelii:
removed link

and

Jovibarba:

That second link there matches all Jovibarbas except for the heuffelii.

Now, are you wanting to do away with the heuffelii entry, and let this one Jovibarba (no species) be the parent for all Jovibarba plants?

Yes, everything in the Jovibarba parent plant applies to heuffelii also. So it would work to just add heuffelii as a species to Jovibarba.
We would no use the propagation other methods, since they reproduce in different ways. That would need to be filled in with each new entry.

Instead of that, we'll delete the duplicate entry and remove the species field from the other one that remains, then it'll match all Jovibarbas.

Dave I just received a google alert to my email with a link to this thread. Hurray!
Just one problem, in this post http://garden.org/thread/view_... the first link is now defunct and sends me to a difficult to leave page. Can you delete or change the link?

It's an error 404 because the second duplicate was removed. I edited my post to remove the link.

Dave can we add the same Awards and Foliage information that shows in the sempervivum, to the Jovibarba parent plant?
Dave under sempervivum specific can we add to the foliage field:
Webbing
Smooth
Fuzzy
Cilia
Tufts
Red
Green
Purple
Tan
Yellow
Terracotta

Under each of the color would be a drop down with 'other' field. In that we can put the time of year it exhibits that color. All color fields should apply, not a choose just one.

And the same list of awards from the sempervivum parent plant.

And AGM is not listed yet. : )
That one will need to be in both sempervivum and jovibarba.

I will do this.

Confused Confused I already did this quite some time ago.

And the same list of awards from the sempervivum parent plant.

Is this another reference to the Jovibarba request up top?

I've copied the Awards and Foliage options from Sempervivum over to Jovibarba.

As far as I know, I've done everything requested in this thread.
