My first bloom today is a new arrival from Fla. Jane Trimmer's Dragonfly Dawn, had a scape that actually was bent in the box. It went ahead and bloomed for me, I'm so happy. It has now split and the other fan has a scape coming.

Dragonfly Dawn, not bad for a first bloom, it was a very large single fan when I got it, that had a scape.


Added a second flower

Congrats on your first bloom and what a beauty it is. Dan told me that Dragonfly Dawn is very fertile and will put a pattern on nearly all its kids. I hope so because I plan to spread its pollen on lots of things.

Now Dot, that's something I would do. Maybe you can still get some if the bees didn't steal it!!

That's one beautiful face on this daylily. I hope ya'll get some seed so I can maybe buy them later. I'd love to have this one.

Very nice bloom, Dot! We got our shipment from the Trimmers last week, and it included Dragonfly Dawn. I think it came with a scape, too. I will have to check tomorrow. When we get a bloom, we will try to remember to save the pollen too. I am glad that you mentioned the pollen. We saw pictures of some of the Trimmers' seedlings from DD, and that is why I ordered it. Dan was the speaker at a daylily meeting we were at last year. I need to find our notes to see if we listed any crosses that he made with DD.

I love it, gorgeous color and pattern.

One thing I really love about this daylily is the large amount of green showing -- I just love that!

OK...why is that a green eye and not a green throat?
