Betty, all I know is it is out of Fantastic Fringe, he didn't tell me the pod parent
Leslie, what Stephanie said is right, but here's a little longer version. Kim is my best friend who got me into this whole hybridizing thing
( I was just happy with buying tons of daylilies for the garden). So my fiancé built us some beds and shade cloth area and such and last year we started hybridizing. Well things changed and I had to move and where I moved to has no space and what little yard there is is all shaded. It was getting a little awkward still having the daylilies at ex fiancé's place. We had already been going and helping James a little bit at that point and he offered for us to move our daylilies out to his place so I wouldn't have to give them up. So in exchange for the daylilies, space, materials to build beds, most of the stuff I put in the beds to feed the daylilies (alfalfa, milorganite, chicken litter, and such), use of any pollen I want, and being fed by his wife Laura everyday ( she worries we don't get enough to eat, but the 10 lbs I put back on says otherwise
) we help out with whatever needs to be done around his place.
Stephanie, I will tell Kim you said congrats. We'll see on the improving part, it's not bad but it's not great either
