I work in a hospital and everyone was in lock down for about 1 1/2 hours.Thankfully , just a lot of rain.
I was surprised when I came home and looked in a pot...I thought there was pea sized hail...it was those moisture beads that I hadn't buried dead enough!!! Sticking tongue out
It is good to know so many are so caring. Group hug

It looks like some of that is getting close to Jacksonville. Take care, Trish.

Hopefully, after sunset, the intensity of the storms will die down.

Yes, it's good to hear that our friends are safe.

We had a lot of tornadoes in this area recently. They have just updated the warning system here, putting in more and louder sirens. We have never been able to hear them very well in our house, or even outside for that matter, when it's storming.

They also keep changing the criteria for when they set off the sirens, so that nobody knows what they mean any more and have become desensitized because the sirens sounded so often. From now on, it's supposed to be the real thing when they sound- like take cover, a tornado has been sighted nearby.

Stay safe everyone. Hope there is little to no damage for any Texans or anyone in the path of that weather.

I was looking at a "wind map" yesterday. One of my FB friends posted it (coincidentally) Quite an intense formation over TX/OK yesterday. Here is the link should anyone find it helpful or just plain interesting.

Seeing the damage those multiple twisters caused is scary. I just can't imagine going through something like that in person. I've lived in the south my entire life and Hurricane's are scary enough but at least we have warnings well in advance of a hurricane's landfall.

This link is to the Weather Channel site and shows still shots of the aftermath of that storm system as well as a video of one tornado actually happening: http://www.weather.com/

Stay safe everyone! My heart goes out to those who suffered damage from those tornado's. ((((( Hugs )))))

Our SIL’s large extended family all live in the Waco to Dallas area. One brother is a DFW meteorologist. All six families’ homes were safe. A niece, who’s a first year elementary school teacher in Richmond, had to herd her students into the hallway to sit out the storm.

We were working in the back garden yesterday afternoon, and didn’t hear about the storms until a light rain forced us inside about 5PM. There’s a TV on the patio, but we were too busy and didn’t turn it on. Just more proof that intense gardening can be dangerous to your health.

Glad everyone’s safe. Looks like more storms this afternoon.

It's been calm and dry here last couple of days. Thankfully...it's scary what DFW area went through.

Hello Everyone, I am sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. As Pat said we are all safe and sound with no damage.
It did hit hard in some areas of Arlington, but thank God no loss of life, it was all very scary, tornados are very strange animals. Smiling

Such power they possess! Seems odd, they'll completely obliterate one house and the next house will be untouched. My hearts go out to all affected by this.

True. And if I HAD to choose where to live based on the three major weather or earth phenomena in the U.S. (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes), I will choose to live in a tornado zone every time.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Debra - I'm curious why? The unpredictability of Tornadoes scares me more than Hurricanes which I can at least see approaching.

And...having grown up on the West Coast, earthquakes don't bother me at all. Living in Tornado Alley, I think I would sleep in the basement every night..scary.
