No takers out there? Here's a new one in bloom today. Vandofinetia blaupunkt.

Closer. I have lots of vandaceous x neofinetia falcatas but none of them bloom for me except blaupunkt (consistently twice a year). Love it. The scent is that wonderful neo scent.

I've had an Amesiella monticola for years without any blooms. I broke down and got another in spike. Can't wait.

Here it is in its 2" pot. Serious nectary. BTW, I put a basic orchid anatomy pic into the Information forum.

What a show!
I was Toddler- sitting today, left my house at 6:45 am. I looked at Cubits while the girls were napping ( not really....), and really can now at home look at this in peace.
We can compare notes, my Amesiella monticola is ready to open too. They are so pretty. Serious anticipation here.
The 'Poet' is such a great plant! And don't you love the Neo hybrids?

So many lovely orchids, folks! Love to see them.

Here's one blooming on my neighbor's back steps. Have no idea what it is, bet he doesn't either. Pretty, though!

It sure is very pretty!!

I spent some time today trying to get the right color on my Potinara Red Heart 'Neptune'. This is the discussed shade of hot pink with a wonderful fluorescent sparkle in the sun which is so difficult to capture. I took about 50 pictures at different times as the light changed during the day, different backgrounds, 2 different lenses, varied settings, placed white paper in front of flash......

I bought it as a very small plant 4 years ago and planted it into a half coconut shell. It bloomed last year for the first time.

Thank you Carol! Smiling I really love it too!
Imagine the sun shining on it, it really sparkles. Whenever I tried to capture that, the color was off.....

Red is so hard to get ... really! You did a spectacular job! I'd say you nailed it, especially in that first one!
