I always have some garden accessories...my hummies love to perch on them..: Usually I also scout for nice wind spinners..always windy here..so they spin away Big Grin
Solar lights are perch venues:

Same with this hanging twisty spinning spiral decor:

Hmm..have to check Home Depot if they have batteries for the solar lights..I have some nice solar accessories just being used as plain decor now..no light.

Thanks Janice Big Grin The hummies are my ever adorable flying garden accessories that adds life to my little garden. Just needs their nectar feeders and perch points Big Grin And they keep coming back everyday too. They tend to re-purpose plant support accessories that I have for their own use.
Like this plant support for the Lavender stoechas Anouk, I have placed it there early Spring to help the foliage grow more upright as the winds keeps pushing it down, and the hummies uses it as their perch, play, feed area..whatever pleases them Smiling Mother Nature's free accessory Big Grin

Tarev, how are those easy-reach pulleys working out? I've looked at them, too... have hooks in front of 3 windows in the family room where it would be waaaaay easier to water if I could lower the pots...

I just went to HD and dropped 60 bucks on plant supports.
I like their green linking fence sections I can surround my patch of Penstemon Mysticas.

I always "mean to" do a better job with plant supports, and then I get distracted, and the plants get too huge and start blooming and just sprawl and I think, hmmm... next year, I'll have to remember to put some stakes/rings/fencing in that part of the garden! At least my hardy hibiscus are in tomato cages this year... and a couple of them are in those bright-painted ones that started showing up at garden centers this year. I really like them, but I think I want to get some heavy duty ones and paint them myself so I can pick the color (probably purple!). LOL

I had heard of upside down tomato cages for agastaches. On another thread I said I wasnt too keen on the painted ones but when I was at HD yesterday ,I saw a color that I liked.Maybe next year.

I know there are 2 schools of thought on leaving supports up all year. I do because I can see where there are new plants from the season before and Balloon Flowers that emerge late wont get planted on top of.

Love the upside down cage idea... would probably be an ideal way to use cages that have become just a little flimsy for the veggie garden. If you paint them, they'll look more purposeful in winter, like abstract art?, and also you'll be less likely to poke yourself in the eye with a sticking-up leg.

I could never figur out why the cages graduate out from the bottom. When filled with tomatoes they flop over here. Why not just use the largest diameter at the ground level?

It is working okay! Makes watering really very accessible Big Grin But I would suggest if you do buy one, test it..sometimes the mechanism may have loosened too much, so when you put a hanging basket, it may extend too long, and won't retract. I had one like that, but I decided to keep it, I just use a much lighter hanging basket.

I appreciate the report! I'll look for them in person rather than online, so I can give them a pull. They got dismal reviews at Amazon, probably because there's an occasional "lemon" like your non-retracting one.
