If this is what you are asking about it is really pretty. http://www.daytonnursery.com/e...
I had never seen it before, and don't know anything about it. Does seem like a wild perennial sunflower I got at a plant swap only mine isn't varigated. Here is what mine looks like.

Thumb of 2013-05-15/Jewell/1f9820. These are photos of my new woodland area created by the neighbors fir trees planted just off the property line. I moved a dozen different varieties of ferns from other areas of the yard into this area as well as a lot of left overs from February on. All the hostas are new, gotten last year at the end of season sales Hurray! or this spring.

The area by the table and terraces are so new the worms haven't yet converted the cardboard under the mulch to compost yet (wall built and cardboard laid in February). I am impatiently waiting to plant some jack-in-the-pulpit's in that area. Some beds were created last summer.

Everything is filling in much faster than I had hoped. The branches in the beds are to discourage the dogs from tramping/racing through the beds. As it is the little dogs use the paths as race tracks, but the dobie sometimes just leaps from path to path to try to catch the little ones.

The white blur over by the cedar owl bench in this last photo is Amber.

Very pretty Jewel, I was thinking about getting one of those false sunflowers. Does it bloom all summer?
I love those variegated coral bells and Hosta. What is the blue one in the middle? (Hosta)

Susan, Sorry I can't remember when the false sunflower starts blooming Sticking tongue out From my photo diary I know that it is in full bloom in September-October here in the cool, wet part of the pacific NW. The blue hosta is 'Bressingham Blue'. I love your bed of hostas. Nice variety. I tip my hat to you. The Heuchera is 'Snow Angel'. Can you divide heuchera and if yes, when is the best time? I'd like more of that variety, I like the way it looks in the deep shade.

I will have to check on that or we can ask on the Heuchera Forum, this is my first year getting into them. I wanted a snow angel but it was not on the list for hot weather Heuchera. So I deleted it and I am getting more of the villosa type. I love mixing them in with the Hosta and also I have Laceleaf Maples and Solomon's seal and Painted Ferns, I love the painted ferns with the silver Heuchera. I have 4 PF I need to plant soon as I get time. Whistling

Thumb of 2013-05-16/virginiarose/e2ab78 Here's some more Hostas.

Some hosta leaves are barely showing. In a shadier spot, the lilies of the valley are doing well & hiding the ginger.

Those are beautiful! You made out good. Hurray!

I wonder if Snow Angel would put up with the heat and humidity we have here. I had it on my list then took it off the added it again. Whistling

Mary ~ If you have dogs...and want to plant hosta, use bulb food that does not contain bone meal. Our sweet dog has been gone for many years now, but when he was alive, he continued to dig up my hostas...nothing else...do not know why. I do not recall if I put bone meal in there or not, but even after I replanted them, he dug them up again (and again...).

At the time, I did not have a fenced garden area, so I just did not plant any hostas for a while.

Jewell ~ That Snow Angel is beautiful...I may want to add it to my shady variegated border.
