While I find the new product interesting and am thrilled that someone cared enough to create it, I have a better idea:
Foster a shelter bunny!
Free poo.
Comes out of the bunny already dry.
Won't burn the plants, either.
Shelter unnies need a "cage break" and to be acclimated to household living AND love, of course, to make them more adoptable.

My first thought when reading the article of Trish's were bunny 'peas'.

We have a small area of "lawn" that we maintain and it gets rotted cow and chicken poo. The balls are "cute"

I remember Shoe telling me he kept bunnies just for that reason - their poop -

I fostered, fell in love, and adopted.
I will hence forth ALWAYS have bunnies in addition to my long standing cat addiction.
I think I'll go back to fostering though, because rabbit vet bills can be high and when you foster, the shelter takes care of that for you. I don't know if I'll be successful though. Last time I just loved them too much to return them!

I'm wondering about this too because I always thought manure did the most good by creating activity within the soil. It does add minerals, salts, things like that; lowers the PH, but my thoughts are that it's the carbon producing activity that is actually equally (if not more) beneficial. In order to create that activity, there must be solid organic matter.

Keep us posted, Trish, on the progress of the plants you used it in. Also keep us posted on the changes in the soil, if any.

I also don't know if the microbial life makes it though the factory process, which would mean even less soil-building. However, I don't have the fancy equipment to test al of that. I read through the Poopeas University page with "lawyer eyes", and while it doesn't look to me like they specifically claim to carry all of the benefits of farm fresh compost, they most certainly imply it.

We'll see what my little trials say! Although I stand by my prediction that it will probably be a great natural fert for house-plants and containers (small scale).

That is a great idea especially considering a few of those 'Easter' bunnies will show up in shelters in a few months. I would love to adopt one but I'm afraid we already have too many pets for such a small condo.

Those who don't have the time or space to care for a rabbit can also check Craigslist. There is a bunny owner who offers 'bunny berries' on our local CL's garden section. I know a few others have seen similar postings on their local Craigslist. Another alternative is to make friends with a bunny owner lol.

Soon I will have rehabilitated my own yard to the point that I could share the bunny balls and/or take them to the flea market for sale.
Granted, they come out of the bunny pretty darn dry, but still I worry about packaging them up for distribution....

I listed a wanted message on craiglist for bunny poop. The man I get them from sells one of the great big brown paper yard bags for $10. He even calls in the spring when he has them ready to go, and since first bagging them up for me, he now has a steady group of gardeners who buy from him. He's not getting rich, but likes that the poop is going for a good use and not just in the dump. Hubby tills them into my compost/vegetable garden each spring.

Yeah - not looking to get rich, just to share AND maybe to educate by offering it out.
First, they go where I need them.
Then I share with friends I help garden with.
THEN I want to take what's left to the flea market with my plants.
It's hot and direct sunny there.
I've had things in plastic bags I had to take out because of condensation inside the bag.
And I mean things that went in pretty darn dry, too!
Like fabrics...
The air itself holds moisture here.
Fermented bunny balls aren't going to be terribly appealing!!!!
I guess a paper bag is the best idea--
