Dave,

I've been having trouble uploading images the past week or two. Not sure what it going on.

The uploading button starts doing it cycling thing after I enter the image location, but it never completes.

Haven't changed picture sizes or local software, to my knowledge.

If the image is extremely large, then it can timeout when trying to upload it. Do you know how big these images are?

I haven't changed the size. The camera and my photos have been the same going back to my DG days and I have posted a lot of them here without problems previously. Typically in the range of 1.5m

Those are quite large, try downsizing and see how they upload.

Twitcher,

I had the same problem for several months last year; it's very frustrating, I know. I finally found out that my ISP was closing down some towers, which slowed down my service. I finally switched providers and that solved my issue.

It's apparently an issue with the Firefox browser. I was able to upload an image using IE. Still looking into it for further information.

I had that same issue with Firefox for several days, but today it seems to be working okay for me again. Time will tell. Yesterday I couldn't get any of my older and larger images to upload to ATP at all when using FF.

Tee (and Dave), I'm able to upload images using Firefox when running in Safe Mode, but not with plugins enabled. Will try to track it down as to the specific plugin but that may take some time. Hope it's not just a timing issue someplace...

Not a problem with ATP apparently.

Thanks for the help.

@rosebuddy2, do not understand your post or why you added it to a 10 year old thread.

Hey gardenguy, and Welcome! to NGA!

Right below the text box, there is an option to upload images either from your library or by taking an immediate picture:

You just have to wait for it to finish uploading. You'll know it's done when a tag (starting with "[lightbox]") is added to your post.

Deleted. I messed up the tag.

Same way you added your avatar photo. Thumbs up
If you want to add one to a plant database entry, go to the Plant Database found in the menu bar at the top, search for your plant in the search box and then once on the correct entry, there is an upload function. Just follow the instructions to upload your photo and hot the submit/finished button.
Welcome!
