Perreiraara Motes Leprechaun 'Haiku Mint' is opening 2 spikes.
How did I ever miss the wonderful scent at earlier bloomings? I thought I smelled beautiful Lilac in the cage this morning.
The roots are really long, they didn't quite fit into the picture.
But those 2 types are very nice!! I especially like the second one!
neat avatar!
regarding the Psychopsis - Right now it sits in the cage in filtered bright light amongst the Phrags and gets watered every day.
during the indoor months I place it into bright Cattleya conditions. It can take full NJ-sun in Winter if it gets flooded daily, but I don't think it needs that much of strong light to flower. I would think "Phrag" .
I don't think there is much of the original medium left and it is covered thickly with moss. I need to repot soon.
What will you repot in. I lost 3 of these in various media!
Anthony, my heart be still!!! Are they both cymbies???? The second one is my fav orchid and colors (green and red/purple as you can tell from my banner and my pastel painting I use for our logo). Does it have a name? I want it!!!
Name: Anthony Weeding Rosetta,Tasmania,Australia (Zone 7b) idont havemuch-but ihave everything
there are about 10 stems of it,sorry,i havnt studied seeds or how it multiplies yet,..,thanks for the comment,'my late friend ,would be stoked'-anthony-,.,.,.,.,.there are a lot more to come
Great Anthony!! If it's a cymbidium you would divide it when it gets big rather than depend on seeds and such. Here's a fun video about it http://cubits.org/orchids/thre... Orchid seeds must be sealed in a glass flask with nutrients in a lab so very few of us do it.
