Perreiraara Motes Leprechaun 'Haiku Mint' is opening 2 spikes.
How did I ever miss the wonderful scent at earlier bloomings? I thought I smelled beautiful Lilac in the cage this morning.
The roots are really long, they didn't quite fit into the picture.

Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' does its thing - for months now it is rarely without a bloom.

But those 2 types are very nice!! I especially like the second one!

neat avatar! Thumbs up

regarding the Psychopsis - Right now it sits in the cage in filtered bright light amongst the Phrags and gets watered every day.
during the indoor months I place it into bright Cattleya conditions. It can take full NJ-sun in Winter if it gets flooded daily, but I don't think it needs that much of strong light to flower. I would think "Phrag" .
I don't think there is much of the original medium left and it is covered thickly with moss. I need to repot soon.

Kathy, when I repot it, I will see what medium it was potted in, before it broke down/washed out.

Surprises like this are always nice.

Great Anthony!! If it's a cymbidium you would divide it when it gets big rather than depend on seeds and such. Here's a fun video about it http://cubits.org/orchids/thre... Orchid seeds must be sealed in a glass flask with nutrients in a lab so very few of us do it.
