I saw these at a nursery yesterday. The first one was just a beautiful color and shape. The name on it was agave cimarron, not sure what it would be in english or latin.




This one was really odd looking. The flower/fruit that was on it looked very much like a tiny pineapple but the leaves are completely different, narrow and strappy.

The first one looks like it could be Agave desmettiana. It has such an elegant shape.
The second one - I would say - is definitely a Pineapple which is in the Bromeliaceae family...

Footnote: I went and googled Agave cimarron before ccompleting this reply and your post showed up on page one of the search. Nothing else helpful, by the way!!

Somehow, that agave cimarron looks like a stemless clumping Yucca of some sort.

It does get a stem Tarev, here's a pic of another one nearby.





I'm amazed that that is really a pineapple Hetty, I guess it is just a different type than I'm used to. The leaves are so thin and the fruit that's on there is almost white. The plants really were kind of straggly looking so maybe they just hadn't had good care.

Thanks for the 2nd photo Jonna...now it really looks more like a Yucca, maybe it was grown in a shady side before being moved to a sunnier side that's why the leaves are deeper green than usual.

The pineapple photo does show very narrow strappy leaves..maybe the leaves grew like that because they were tying it? I see some of the other pineapples around it tied up.
