An update on this one....I E-mailed pictures to the master gardener at our county extension office...they (the MGs) are volunteers and only there on Friday. I got a reply today, but I was too late to talk to him. Anyway...from the pics he thinks it is a native orchid, somewhat rare and protected, but as of this morning could not pin it down exactly. He had some questions...I E-mailed back, but likely won't hear back until next week. Envited him out to take a looksee if so inclined, which would be awsome as there are so many wildflowers here "just doing there thing" Bill is a happy camper...no cutting the yard till I hear something
