Maybe it's the humidity? This was an orchid in a bag thing that I bought in January.
I keep it in the darkest place in the greenhouse, on the bottom shelf...but maybe it
was already budded in January?

My Phrag kovachii 'Laura' x Phrag Living Fire 4N bought in Febr 2007 from Glen Decker, in the meanwhile registered as Phrag Allison Strohm, is spiking!! Oh my!! 5 years in the making!
I had bought at the time 2 kovachii x seedlings, one always sort of lingered on, I finally threw it out last year and the second always grew nicely and was certainly big enough to have flowered already some time ago.

They can range from a yellowy red to deep red, yours sure looks a nice deep red.
