I am still finding treasures out in the bushes. L. tenebrosa X Blc Chinese Bronce 'Marco Polo' was hiding under a big cycad leaf but I spotted the color. She is now hanging in the lanai.

I agree

Great blooms everyone. I seem to have something eat into the flowers and tonight noticed a new dendrobium shoot completely chewed off. All I can see in the plants are ants. Can they do this stuff?

I have mice INSIDE the house and barn. Everyone in the country has to trap field mice in their kitchens. Hilarious!

We trapped once the same mouse 21 times here in Fair Lawn!!! That was one smart little thing, finding her way back to the attic in the middle of Winter from ever increasing distances. And I don't even want to talk about our place in Pennsy, never ever leave food out and do set up a trap....

Fred, perhaps you carried in a Caterpillar or Snails/Slugs?

Jim, you will miss finding treasures in the bushes... Whistling

Kathy, nice Luna!

There are ants all over the place. Take a look.

Now, do they eat into the flower buds?

I had little ants all spring inside my office and they were licking up the sweet orchid sap but nary a one ate a flower!

So are ants on orchids normal and not harmful? Trying to narrow down the evil that messes with my plants.

Fred, that damage looks like caterpillar or perhaps thrip damage. The ants we have in Florida do not normally harm plants directly but will move aphids around from plant to plant. They are up to something so try to find out what it is. The cutter ants I had to deal with in Panama are another story.

I agree, I would look for a slug or caterpillar!! And Ants not only farm Aphids, they are responsible for Scale and Mealie infestations too.

I like the Lctna. Renate 'S & W' very much! Pretty thing! Lovey dubby
