I have a bunch everyday with split pistils. They are all new or repotted ones. It's just plum flustrating when you're wanting to set seed on them.

I love Mystical Intuition! I just knew it must have Bridey Greeson in its background...and it does, via Blue Eden. Sigh. Although, given that I am getting pickier and pickier about my pinks, I'd definitely like to see it in person (probably not likely this year...).

I remember at the FL convention seeing a Frank Smith seedling that was just this gorgeous baby pink and baby blue...and I knew knew knew that had to be out of Bridey Greeson, too. Been keeping my eye out, but don't think it's been introduced...sigh.

It started pouring rain while I was taking photos so some may look drenched. My friend Kim thought I was nuts because I just got under the umbrella and kept taking photos. Green Grin!

Michele, I so appreciate your taking these photos in the rain. What dedication! Viva Piñata is looking good. I was very happy to see Ripples and Reflections. I can see some pattern through the raindrops. The one that really surprised me was Vision's Voice - it is not even close to the color shown in the hybridizer's photo. It was sent to me as a bonus this spring, so now I wonder what it will look like in my garden.

Ann, V V may lighten up after a few blooms and be closer to his photo. But then again it may not because of our soil. I'll take another photo after its has some more blooms.

Yes, 28 photos of the most gorgeous daylilies and I'm not allowed to 'LOVE M ALL' Well that's ok. I cut the list down from 28 to 12. Michele, just because of all your fantastic photos, I added 12 more plants to the LIST! Is it not possible for you to make photos of ugly daylilies so I can keep my list in just one notebook? You out did yourself today. I guess a little rain just makes you shine instead of making you all limp and soggy! Whistling

I have no idea. Have heard that they won't set seed but when they are wet at the ends, I do dab on each one, hoping! Each one turns out to be a chamber in a seed pod and I have collected seed pods with only 1 or 2 sections so maybe it worked. No I didn't tag the flower!

It's raining so I couldn't take alot of pics. This is Blue Beetle. The fuzzy one shows the right color and the sharp one shows the detail.

Wow, fantastic daylilies and pictures, everyone! I see so many that I would love to have! I'm behind on posting and will try to get some posted today. It really warmed up (downright hot, in fact!) while we were on vacation for a week, and when we came back I swear all my seedlings were much taller and suddenly we had daylily blooms! And the bad news is that all the weeds really popped too... Angry

Some blooms from the past few days:

WILD AND WONDERFUL

ELOQUENT CAY - In shade and in sunlight -- what a difference! I've discovered that when I take a picture with the brick steps behind the bloom, the flower color is much more accurate -- I wonder why... I really love this daylily and purchased it for practically nothing from Abundant Daylilies on the Lily Auction!

PRICKLY SENSATION - Love the subtle eye on this one, and the teeth are starting to show!

Interesting to know that about the bricks in the background. Maybe it helps the light filter work differently?

I especially like your pics of Long Stocking.

Does anyone have any idea what this is? It was in my reg. NOID section.

Ver nice blloms Betty. I have noticed that sometimes I have to focus my camera at something else (foliage, mulch, etc) with just a bit of the bloom in it (so I can see the color) and it will show more of an accurate color than if directly focusing on the bloom. I will push the button (that takes the photo) halfway down, this shows if it's in focus or not, and then move it over to the bloom and take the photo. As long as I keep the button held down halfway it will keep the coloring I'm trying for.
