Woofie, I'm glad you didn't have too much damage.

Linda, it sounds like you're doing great!

I'M FINISHED! Except for a few wintersown jugs, all the plants are off of my deck. I stuck in 2 more trays of coleus today. These were sort of the leftovers, not exactly cream of the crop. From being in cell packs so long, stuck so close together, they were stretching, tall and lanky. But I stuck them in anyway, wherever I could cram them. And I finished mulching! I didn't feel like I'd ever get it finished but I finished today. I used pine straw for the first time this year and it takes a long time to spread.

There's still a mess all over the deck- a gazillion flats, daisy trays, pots, and cell packs. I want to wash them in my outdoor sink before I put them away in the basement. And I have a bin with a few wintersown jugs which I might or might not ever plant. I'll be so glad to get that deck cleaned up. I don't know when, but soon.

We're due for a scorcher weekend too- temps in the 90s Friday through Monday. And it's so dry. It has only been a little over a week since we had rain, but temps have been in the 80s and there was no mulch yet.

Congratulations on getting your plantaing done today, and finishing mulching, Karen. You are way more ambitiouys than I am to do your own mulching!

And don't even talk to me about leftover flats and pots to wash. I have at least 50 flats to wash from the plant sale, and I don't know how many dozen pots. I will hose everything outside first before starting the bleach washing process. I can't even face it yet.

We estimate we sold over 10000 plants at our MG plant sale on Saturday. I can't even look at a plant right now. I was so tired after set-up on Friday and the sale on Saturday. It's all I can do to get motivated to get everything planted, much less worry about clean-up yet.

It's been really dry here too, so lots of watering until I get the rest of the drip irrigation hooked up. I have so much to do, I don't know what to do first.

I had to get mulch down, my seedlings were frying. And I don't trust others to mulch for me, I'm afraid they'll cover my small plants and seedlings. My husband did help a little over the weekend.

I'll just do a quick wash on pots and cells now while I can do it in my outside sink. And I prefer to keep all this soil, bark, peat and perlite outside where it can drain right into a garden bed. It tends to clog drains in the house. Hilarious! I'll just use soap and water now, and bleach before using again.

My first task today is to water some more. But not much yard work.

Congratulations, Karen, on getting everything in! Hurray! Wish I could say the same. I have a long ways to go, because I have to clear out the weeds and debris in the containers before I can replant them. Every year I say I'm going to get it done in the fall, and every year it freezes before I can get to it.

Ifell into bed exhausted around 11 last night, but I woke up at 4:30. It's a curse. I'm more exhausted now. Sad I just finished watering. That's it for me in the yard today. I have to do some stuff inside, it's looking like a pig pen. Hilarious!

I've been cleaning inside the house. What a miserable, thankless, useless task. By the time I finish dusting, the dust is building up again. Came downstairs to get the vacuum but decided it's time for an iced tea break.

Another cloudy day here, good rest for the plants.

You are obviously younger and more resilient than I! And presently more damaged! Crying Sorry to hear that. Ouchies. Hope things heal up quickly!

And I refuse to get upset about the nasty things the weather is trying to do to my plants. Besides, I'm blaming the goats...and DH, cause they're HIS goats! Hilarious!

I agree Although, I'm actually somewhat surprised at how little damage the weather has done to my greenhouse exiles. Managed to get a few more plants set out in their final resting places (one way or another Rolling my eyes. ), but hoo boy I have a loooong way to go. I think I may have gotten a bit carried away with the seed starting this year....... Whistling

You are not alone.
Hail flattened the first petunias out.
They will recover.
I am putting up one of those tent type greenhouses.
That will allow me to remove plants from house, even though it may frost yet.
Take care all of you.

saw my hand surgeon friend yesterday. I have mostly soft tissue damage- tendons and ligaments. wrist bones are intact but have one small hairline crack in one hand bone. I'm in a huge dressing with plaster splint from elbow to fingers. plaster is more than half way around hand and arm. it stabilizes it, helps the pain a lot. so does ice and elevation. my friend vicodin helps most!

i can't do ANYTHING with my left hand. my girlfriend is coming to dress me this morning. i don't think i can drive even if i'd stop taking narcotics. i feel sorry for my husband. besides putting in 50-60 hours a week for his job, now he has to do everything at home.
