Hi to all and good morning Angel May God Bless You All Angel

Hey Jelinda, is that the only Adenium plant you have, would like to know, maybe I can send you some seeds when I get some seed pods on my plants so you get the adenium love bug too, like the rest of us. LOL

Jim, I'm so happy you get seed pods so easy now, remember when you almost gave up trying to get them, I am glad you didn't give up and got your rewards for persisting on it, by the way if you get a few extra seeds from your white adenium could you mail me one or two seeds, the one I have doesn't seem to produce seeds so I haven't been able to add more white seedlings to my small collection, I say small collection since I lost 95% of all my plants I used to have. I am trying to get back to were I was once with my collection and maybe be able to sell a few plants from time to time like I use to do at the local nursery before everything whent down hill for me, but with God help I will get back and even better than before it's just a matter of time.

Will be back later, have to replant some of my plants, till than,
your friend Wilfred

I have pods, but "only" pink. Sigh. But then one plant with double blooms is slowly making two pods, and a white that gets 'sunburnt' pink has pods. I'll be sharing seeds soon---

Thank you

UPDATE ON MY DESERT ROSE~

I was checking on it the other day and i couldn't believe it!! the plant seemed sturdier in it's pot,wt i hen i pulled it didn't come right up and so i went to digging around & found lots of nice, healthy, white sucker roots. The leaves are growing bigger and the bottom of the (stalk, stem ???) is getting fatter above what i called the cauldex.I did take some advice about the peat around it to help with growing roots. It has now been removed.

Looking good!

The 'sucker' roots, or hair roots are the feeder roots, where the plant gets food and water. Tiny, and if growing, white.

Keep up the good gardening!

Oh my.. you guys are scaring me... I've had 2 adeniums for years and all I've ever done is watched them bloom and throw a little fertilizer on them... maybe I need to repot them......thoughts? I do bring them in the garage during frost warnings...

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" Hilarious! More and more I think you have the right solution! , none of my neighbors do a thing for the ones they have planted outside. I think I'm loving mine into not blooming. I gotta start paying less attention to them. I'll try tough love.

After reading more of these threads I'm looking at these adeniums in a new light and I'm a bit excited Hurray! about the cauldex look of these plants. I'm going to re-pot and raise the root up on these two I have and get lower pots. I always loved the blooms but now I get it... I love the bonzai look to properly cared for adeniums... thanks for all these great tips everyone! I tip my hat to you.

Are the plants in boom right now? It is not a good time to re pot unless you have a problem. Its better to re pot in dryer season . if you break the roots be sure to let the plant sit and those cuts or breaks heal completely or when you plant make sure it dosnt get very wet it will start to rot from root up and you while have big problems, 99% of the time doing what you plan to do will cause root damage and flowers will fall. I strongly suggest wait on re potting read more about it get the materials ready DON'T buy the pot till you un-pot the plant you never know how big that will be. you dont want to under pot or over pot.

if you do it in our dry season you can also prune the stems to look the way you like. but these need dry heal also. those stems can be rooted into more plants they just dont form a caudex but they can be good blooming plants that will sell
just my advise

I'll wait cause this rain is causing me concern for my plummies also... I'm so looking forward to seeing what is under the dirt on these 2 adeniums. So I can cut the stems back... all of them? and can I cut some off to the cauldex? They both have run wild. One is at least 10 years the other 7-8. Thanks for the tips...
I tip my hat to you.

yes you can cut most of the stems back to the caudex if you like just leave some for leaf production. ive been told that cinnamon powder is good to put on cuts it can help seal and has a micro bacteria properties. look at it and be selective with the cutting the smaller the branch the better for the plant to heal. when you do this its best to unpot and wash all dirt off and look at it to see what you got from all sides and look at about how much of the caudex you like to expose then decide if there what stems you like to cut. after all cutting of stems and roots you need to (normaly) hang in a location that will have good air flow and let it heal its self for (this is a debate) an ample mount of time. you dont want it to get soft needing water go here for ideas on cutting and care
