thank you! "the Prince" for some reason I didn't come to mind! indeed, the king's son is a Prince. Although there is a small nuance - the word "Korolevich" is sometimes used in the Russian language in fairy tales instead of the word "Prince" or "tsarevich" and is a folk-poetic shade.

Interesting. We don't really have an equivalent single word. Our fairy tales use "handsome prince" or "prince charming" to bring out the romantic/poetic style.

I remember very little of the Russian I learned during a 5 month job as a "Foreign Fisheries Observer" on Soviet fishing vessels in US waters in 1985. However, I do know what sounds best in English. Also, my greater experience with Spanish makes me well aware that some things cannot be exactly translated due to differences in culture and thought processes.
Olga's irises suite my tastes perfectly. If she could market them here, I would have an order in for this Spring too.

I took French in college and retain a bit - and I understand what you mean by what "sounds" right, And living in California, particularly, one picks up a lot of Spanish!
