Aww happy tears Crying Crying

I had no idea about the seed balls. When I read your article on Cubits, I thought it was food for the birds. Duh, call me stupid.

LOVE how you save the seed with the clay.

Loved the memories you made for both of you this week-end Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Maybe it's age, maybe it's experience, maybe it's a lot of things, but I just don't do tears very well, Mary.
Or maybe I ran out a long time ago. Shrug!

Anyway, I'm glad my words had an effect.
Thank you.

Sharon, no matter what you and Ethan do, you always have fun and make memories. It's such fun watching him grow up through your writings, and of course, pictures! Maybe you should take him on a trip to your mountains to spend some time listening to the accents of the people, and seeing some of what you saw growing up.

A beautiful Mother's Day article.
I enjoyed it.

It is the things which you do together that they will remember!

Thanks for the reminder on the seed balls also.

I plan to do just that, Mary, sometime in June, I hope.
He will have to learn a third dialect there, because I've been out of the mountains for many years and though I can revert back to the speech in a matter of minutes, he hasn't heard much of it at all. He's going to have to google all the new words and I'm afraid even Google won't recognize many of them.

He's taking guitar lessons and has been taking them for a year now. He's getting good! I gave him his Pop-Pop's guitar and his dad is getting it all tuned up for him. He's excited. I hope that interest continues.

I hope you are right, Caroline, I hope he remembers.
He seems to expect things like that from me. On Saturday after we were letting the clay dry a bit, he asked me what we could do next or if i had any ideas for another clay project and I told him I needed to run to the grocery for a few things. I asked if he wanted to go to Walmart to 'look around at toys' or if he wanted to run to the local grocery which would take only a few minutes. No toys there.

He didn't hesitate. "Lets run to our grocery, Nana, and not waste time at Walmart. We have things to do here at home."
I loved that answer, I hope his attitude doesn't change. I'm a realist though, so I just treasure every little visit now.

Thanks for checking out the blog. Smiling

Thanks Hetty, I feel that way too.

He remembers his grandfather, though he was not quite three when he died suddenly. But in the aftermath of that death, Ethan seemed to think I 'needed' him. From that summer he came here and stayed in long blocks of time with the idea that I needed him so I wouldn't be alone. So I don't know if he adapted to things I like to do because of that, or if it's the strength of genetics, but we are very much alike.

He's very sports oriented too, good at baseball, basketball and soccer. I'm not, though he knows I like to watch him at play. So it is what it is and he still comes here because 'I need him' even though he's nearly as big as I am now. He's a lot of fun, teases a lot, I just hope it continues. And if it doesn't, then I might just have to remind him that 'I need him.'

I think he'll get it. Smiling
