I have done stuff this fall that I always leave for spring. I decided my veggie beds needed lots of compost and I didn't want to deal with having to do it all in the spring. So I had compost by the truckload. Once that was on I could put out the tomato cages exactly as I wanted them to be. Then start on the fall mulching. I put leaves everywhere as they are free.

Usually I have to mulch with straw on the veggie gardens as I have no leaves in the spring. But this year getting the leaves on as much as possible. Of course I will still need some straw in the spring.

But I am so very much ahead for next season. This milder weather many days has really helped as otherwise it would be cold and the ground frozen. But not this year. So I have really taken advantage to get my garden in shape.
