I have somewhat mixed feelings about 'Bali Watercolor'.

The colors on the bloom are indeed gorgeous, and the blooms always open well - an important consideration here with our cool nights.

That said, I have always had all of the blooms open within a flush of about 3 weeks, from the last week of May (more or less) to about the middle of June. I have never had it rebloom. (To be fair, I have also never added extra fertilizer throughout the season.) This short season of bloom was strike one.

Strike two was the fact that the blooms frequently spotted for me (one big reason that I don't like most purple daylilies). Spotted blooms are not attractive.

Strike three happened when it got significant rust this season. (I don't, and won't, spray fungicides for rust.)

Taken altogether, it is time for 'Bali Watercolor' to leave the garden, something that will happen this spring (as soon as I can figure out what to replace it with).
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
