BALI WATERCOLOR is perfectly hardy in my Zone 4b garden, and increases moderately well. It is EM here, starting a week or two before full peak season. I haven't measured it, but it's shorter than 35" here, and I don't get anything like the 7 branches and 35 buds in the stats, but it performs as well as many other large-flowered dls. The flowers are large and uniquely pretty - everyone loves it.
This is one I would expect to keep for many years. I don't have a very good pic of it, but I'm posting what I have.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about 'Bali Watercolor'.

The colors on the bloom are indeed gorgeous, and the blooms always open well - an important consideration here with our cool nights.

That said, I have always had all of the blooms open within a flush of about 3 weeks, from the last week of May (more or less) to about the middle of June. I have never had it rebloom. (To be fair, I have also never added extra fertilizer throughout the season.) This short season of bloom was strike one.

Strike two was the fact that the blooms frequently spotted for me (one big reason that I don't like most purple daylilies). Spotted blooms are not attractive.

Strike three happened when it got significant rust this season. (I don't, and won't, spray fungicides for rust.)

Taken altogether, it is time for 'Bali Watercolor' to leave the garden, something that will happen this spring (as soon as I can figure out what to replace it with).
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I had Bali Watercolor from 2009 until this fall. It did very well here. It increased nicely. I have sent it to several people over the years. It was one the first to bloom here. Starting around by the mid June. I never had rebloom. So agree that its season wrapped up pretty quickly. It is a very dependable bloomer.

I only decided to get rid of Bali Watercolor this year because of my space restrictions. If I want sometime new, something old has to leave and a couple of folks here really wanted it so I shipped it off to 2 new homes.

I love this plant. Got it last year and had my first bloom. Very large and beautiful. No spot or streaking. Can't wait to see what it looks like after it settles in !

I may be wrong but I thought we had already done this one as Daylily of the day?

No I don't think so, I am sure the computer keeps track of all that, with the notes under the photo of when each plant was featured and the past plant of the day forum list etc.

Bali Watercolor has been slow to increase. It has been in my garden 3 years. Love the color and plant habit. It is a real stand out. I don't think this been Daylily of the day before.

No, we haven't done this daylily yet. Go to the forum "Past plants of the day" and hit Ctrl + f and type Bali Watercolor. You will see no results indicating that it has not been run yet.

I am in the same area as polymerous ,zone 9b, but my experience with "Bali Watercolor" is very different. I love that plant enough to dig it up and transport it to my new place in Northern California, when I was only able to take about a third of my collection. I grew it since 2004, and it usually bloomed for about 6 weeks, beginning in early May. It never rebloomed, but then it was also planted in an area full of tree roots, which got only filtered sunlight. Never spotted or got rust either. In my new location it is again planted in a less than ideal spot, yet it boomed well enough. Will alway keep it.

Bali Watercolor isn't a great increaser here in the Northwest. I received a double fan in 2014, and it only had 3 fans in 2015. It hasn't rebloomed for me either. It sure is a big beauty when it blooms!

I received Bali Watercolor as a wonderful gift this year, Thank You! @Claudia

I can't give a true growers report but I will agree that it increases rapidly. I divided the CV upon its arrival and potted into two pots. One was for my keeping and another for my mom. Both division increased over the fall and below are some photos. I cant wait to drool over this one in the spring as it was one of my favorites when I started collecting...

I don't think I can add much. Mine tends to be about 30-32" tall, no where near the bud count, and it does tend to be over in a relatively short time. Also, relatively slow to increase. But it is a lovely flower, never had spotting, and does put on a good show while in bloom.

I received this plant from Claudia here on NGA, back in Sept. 2015. It grew and multiplied and bloomed in 2016. I dug it up and moved it in Jan. 2017 to a new location. It bloomed and bloomed for me in 2017 and again in 2018. Somewhere along the way, I divided the plant again, because I have two separate clumps in separate locations, but failed to make a note of it. So for me it is doing good and multiplying, but I am not getting anywhere near the registered bud count and branching count so far. As it is right now, I will keep the plant, it does well enough to make it a keeper in my garden even if it does not ever reach the stats it is registered with.
It has started blooming in early May the past two years that I have had it.

This year the scapes were all across the board in height, short ones and tall ones. The tall ones with several blooms tended to lean some, and when wet would lean a lot. Hope the scapes get stronger next year. It was common to have three or four blooms a day.

I purchased this in 2014, it has always done wonderfully, and increased well. I have given away a couple nice clumps and it still is a fair size. I have to agree that it does sort of have a rush of blooms maybe 6-8 a day and it doesn't last as long as I would like. I don't get rebloom either but oh what a show it puts on when it is blooming. It is a keeper in my garden. Thumbs up Thumbs up

I have mixed feeling about this one. Does tend to often have some spotting here in zone 5. Bud count has never been very good and scapes are somewhat short. Color varies a lot depending on the weather as can be seen in these 2 photos.
