We've gotten snow about 4 times in 10 years. Most of the time its gone within 24 hours but everyone's like "Ya'll we need to close the schools &businesses!" We both worked for bread companies (me for Hostess, him for Flowers & then Sara Lee), & hated weather like that. People would get 10 or more loaves of bread & soon shelves would be empty. Then more people would complain & store managers (mostly Walmart) would ask why their shelves were empty. My husband would tell them, All bread companies order a week in advance. We can not predict the weather. Bakeries can't adjust orders on short notice. We do get icy roads & trees falling if you blink so road conditions are bad. My husband once drove roads that cops closed to deliver bread to some stores & not one of them say thank you but they did tell him he would need to pick up anything not sold after "the crisis" was over.
