Ismene x deflexa is a hybrid taxon, a spontaneous cross of Ismene longipetala and Ismene narcissiflora. Entries in the Catalogue of Life never include the "x" in the names of hybrid taxa, although they usually do include the information that the name is a hybrid taxon. Unfortunately, the Ismene listings in the CoL are based on data from Kew, which never include that information. The "x" is included in the name in the GRIN and Plant List entries:
