If spring is coming too fast in your area, you might sow seeds with moist vermiculite in sandwhich bags and either freeze them or just chill in refrigerator.

One kind of Delphinium, I just sowed, said to freeze the seeds for 24 hours to break dormancy. They were the Dasante Blue Delphinium.
Most of the older Delphiniums like cooler starting , but don't require really cold temperatures.
