I'm not sure what zone you are in but some grape vines can be killed or injured by freezing winter temperatures. I think Concord Grape (Vitis labrusca 'Concord') will grow in zones 5 or 6 and higher.

I googled and found this information about growing grapes in Idaho:

This page lists a few types that do well in Idaho: http://growinggrapesguide.com/...

And, this page has information on planting and growing backyard grapes in Idaho: http://www.cals.uidaho.edu/edC...
