I have no idea why it would do that, being you did rotate and save them in a photo editing program before uploading them. I was not saying you turned your phone sideways, just that loading photos from a phone camera often results in them loading sideways. I have seen it many times here and on other sites also.
I am sure many have run into that problem, surely we will get more suggested solutions to the cause and cure of the problem.
