I agree with Don. Why try to grow tomatoes that taste like cardboard from the grocery store. Sure the seeds would germinate but why would anyone want them to. Saving seeds from last fall is really pretty easy, buying new seeds is pretty cheap and a lot of the fun is to grow what you want. Why grow unwanted stuff (a nice way to put it) when the real thing is just as easy.
