Look at it on the bright-side, Jacquie. You not only have less to do while you are on the mend but will also have something to occupy your time when you are all-well.............buy new plants.
I bet your greenhouse really did have a wonderful fragrance from that blooming ginger.
@JB, I am usually lurking on the orchid forum, the plumeria forum, and the adenium forum. Those forums have stayed pretty active even during this "slow-time" of the gardening year. Since I occupied the new solarium and am growing so many plants in that space, I have a lot going on. I am growing plants and keeping plants blooming that I had never been able to do before. It is an exciting time for me.
With my upcoming back surgery scheduled on the 19th, I guess I better start teaching my wife how to be a care-giver for my plants. I thought the surgery would be a piece of cake. Now, after talking to the neurosurgeon and watching a video of the fusion-surgery yesterday, it looks like I will be a little more hindered in what I normally do post-op. For some reason I thought the surgery would perhaps be an hour-long procedure (max), but now I am told that it will be more like 3-4 hours.
