I saw that too, Ann, that it doesn't grow where I live. I'm in the northern part of Nez Perce county, but almost on the border of the neighboring county of Clearwater. While Nez Perce county, at the southern tip, does appear to touch the area of WA where it grows, that is nowhere near where I live. Our area is commonly known as North Central Idaho.
It's growing in full sun, with zero shade, in very rocky soil. I can hardly get a shovel in the ground in that area.
