I know the very thought is heresy to rose lovers. I am not a rose lover. Someone planted roses in a strip of ground that belongs to me (its a long story and who cares?) and I've cut them down as close to the ground as I can, but there's still that bottom part and its in solid clay/concrete soil. I really need to get them out of there, but I'm not physically capable of digging anything which is why I garden in containers only.

I'm really sorry if this thread offends anyone, but I could use any advice I can get about spraying them with something other than Roundup to kill 'em off. TIA
Can't complain too loud about how the ball bounces when I'm the one who dropped it.
