'Red October' is a medium-sized hosta that is a hybrid of longipes hypoglauca x 'Harvest Delight'. It's one of the best of the hostas with red petioles. The upright habit displays leaves that arch. The dark gray/green foliage with a silver-white back makes a symmetrical clump. It blooms very, very late in the season and is often covered with bloom when not much is left of the foliage. Mine was new spring 2007. Please feel free to share your pictures of this hosta.
