Catmint is not as "intoxicating" to cats as catnip, but they do like it. My cat will roll around in the clump and nibble at the leaves every so often. The plant does not suffer from this and rebounds it's shape quickly. I doubt the plant would "attract" cats to your yard, but if they came across it they likely would be interested. Do you have a lot of cats roaming your neighbourhood?
Btw, catmint is a really good container plant. It is a very easy perennial, and a long bloomer. I find it quite attractive.
