So yesterday I was given this plant by a friend. She calls it "Giraffe's Knees" and I did find it in the database. Is this an Aroid?

It has a flower as you can see in the photo, and it sure does look like an Aroid flower. But the leaves don't look like any Aroid I've seen. Cool looking mottled stem, with (indeed ! ) a sort of knee in it halfway up.
