I stay paranoid this time of year. Really on into the summer. I only wish hail storms were more rare than they are. But, yes, they can wipe out a whole year of work and anticipation in a few minutes. They come in a wide range of damage depending on the size of the stones, how heavy the rain of stones is, and the duration of the event. A thick rain of small, nickel sized stones lasting for 5-10 minutes can do more damage than a few half-dollar sized stones falling here and there and then over with in seconds. I've seen way too many of any kind for my liking. I really hate hail.
