Unfortunately, for us folks in the Upper Mississippi Valley, a pattern has been in place for about a week where cold dry lines come down from Tom's neck of the woods and collide with warmer gulf air and the storms pop up in western Kansas/East Missouri and explode in severity and size. The water values in the gulf air is pretty darn high, thus the heavy rains. Looks like this pattern could stay in place for the next week or so. Then they all move eastward.

My work shoes are so wet I have to put plastic bags over my socks before I put them on or else I'll have cold wet feet instead of just cold feet. I have been trying to dig up iris that I have lots of and give to the neighbors and when I get the clump of mud out of the ground it drips water. Lord have mercy!!
