You wouldn't want a mulberry within 3 meters of a building, at the minimum. Five or more meters would be even safer. Mulberries have a pretty incredible root system. The roots will grow under a building foundation (or up against the walls if it has a basement) and eventually get large enough to crack it. That kind of damage tends to be difficult, and expensive, to fix.
