We had a domesticated mouse in the house a couple years ago. Someone must have let theirs go and it got into my house. DH says "There's a mouse in the house." Me..."Uh huh, you probably saw a large lizard." DH...."No, it's a mouse. I have to go to the store so when I get back, I'll help you catch it." So there I was thinking DH was seeing things, when all of sudden, out from under the sofa runs this little grey and white mouse! Cats get thrown out onto the lanai and door gets closed. I grab the net from the aquarium and got rug burns on my knees chasing it around. It ends up under the sofa. Me, Great White Mouse Hunter Woman, tips sofa on it's side, moves all small furniture out of the way and scares mouse into the kitchen, where I finally catch it in the net. Double pot holders under the net trapping the mouse, who sits there quietly twitching it's whiskers. I take it out back and leave it by the edge of the woods. I figured he'd either find someplace to hide and survive out there, or a hawk or owl would have a nice snack. Either way, I go back in, put the house back together, put the sofa back in place, wash the aquarium net and throw potholders in the wash. DH comes home and asks if I got the mouse. I inform him that he must have been seeing things cause the only thing I caught was a large lizard!!!!
