This is not an answer to either of your questions because our locations couldn't be more diverse. I grow all of my fuchsias in the shade and in the ground, and I have virtually no humidity, but I can tell you my own practices and you can then adjust them for your own location.

I've never brought plants into the house except for a few tropicals that come in for the winter, so I don't know whether that would help.

As for watering, I think you should keep the soil in the container moist but not wet. I water my outdoor fuchsias about once a week, but they're all planted in the ground. Container plants typically need more frequent watering. Your higher humidity, on the other hand, may require less frequent watering.
