Teresa, I would suggest starting with a book about Irises or bearded irises. There are several and you can always check them out at the library. It will explain so much that you really need to know before you invest a lot of time, energy and funds into the plant. I would get at least two different books and read them from cover to cover. They will cover all classes of bearded irises and even have the history of the iris along with how to propagate them. It is interesting reading.
