I think milkweed not really fit to the picture. They have opposite leaves and dont have that sheath like structure on its leaves
That sheathlike structure and flower buds resemble to Polygonum (now Persicaria). Thank you Janet to updating the new name
It seems that P.barbata is asiatic plants. Not sure if that strawberry seed have contaminated with that.
Some of european cousin on the link that Janet shared seems close to it. Maybe it is one of them ?
