I think the full sun spot I have the one plant in is to lean and drains to fast, sandy loam. I did mix in some Miracle Grow potting mix and will try leaving it in full sun.
The other is in a container with first have of day sun. It has done beautiful from the very beginning.
I agree that they seem to need a bit more water than many of the other ground cover type sedum. We have had some light rain off and one the last two weeks.
I may follow your example and give the one in full sun a shot of fertilizer to help it get going. I think once it covers the ground/root zone it will do much better.
