One morning about 2 weeks ago I was elbow deep in raw turkey breast I was getting ready to roast when dh says the fox is out front. Wash up FAST but well and run for the camera. Out on the front porch quietly. It had just taken a squirrel. We watched it shake it several times.
I apologize for the crappy quality of the photos. Obviously I still haven’t learned to use the ability my new camera has. Fox was only about 100 - 125’ from me but I can’t get good focus. It looks crystal clear when I’m looking at the screen but I have to be doing something wrong. I have to say though that this entire tableau lasted a good 10 or 15 minutes. The longer it lasted, the more adrenaline pumped through me. It got so bad near the end that I could not even hold the camera steady while resting it on the porch rail. I was shaking like a leaf!!!! It was sooooooo exciting!

Here it has just taken the squirrel.

It came toward us & then cut off to the right to eat it in the taller foliage.

See it? It just stood up from eating. It buried part of it for a later snack. It came back sometime before noon the next day & finished it. I had taken photos of where it buried it & compared with the next day.

It obviously knows I’m on the front porch taking photos. Look at how it's cutting it's eyes toward me.

Checking the scene of the crime for anything it left behind? I don’t know but it went right back to where it had gotten the squirrel in the first place. It checked & sniffed all around.

I assure you it has all four legs. One of our hedges was in the way obstructing the full view of the lower half of that front leg.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
