I know what you mean, Ann. I'm still struggling with learning my new camera too. I do have it on the auto setting. It does look like your pictures are dusty, or light, although I don't know how that happens. I had that happen the other day but then I discovered that my lens was smudged, from trying to get too close for a "close-up". Don't know if that could have happened to you. Or, when I was trying to take a picture through my dirty window. I'm probably not being any help.
