Sherry, if that is a Pinus strobus, the needles should pull off in bunches of mostly 5. It's hard to tell from the picture if they are. If it's any kind of pine the needles will be in bunches joined at the base and not individual. That would be a way to determine if it's a pine, if possible to get that info. The attachment at the branch ends looks kind of odd.
