I have several batches of very difficult LA x Asiatic and a few Asiatic crosses that only produced one to a few seeds. Many of the Asiatic are crossed with mixed 4n asiatic pollen. Yields are low and seed is not well cleaned since I was planning to start it myself but have no use for it now. Also the paper coin envelopes I put it in are not that pretty having been previously used but I can make sure the cross is legible. There are about 20 packets with a couple of Trumpet crosses, one is PFC (pink yellow cream) X White Bicolor henryi and one is PFC X Emerald Angel. Those just didn't yield enough seed to list for sale.
I think postage will probably be about $2.00 and can just put one of my special hot pink, self addressed envelopes in with them you can use to pay me back.
I got serious about trying to cross the LA hybrids with 4n Asiatics since I do have a couple of seedlings from earlier crosses, but the seeds may not germinate even though they have embryos.
These will be more difficult than starting larger batches of lily seed, lily seedlings seem to enjoy growing close together for the first year and I usually put the small amounts in a bottomless band for extra drainage.
This week I spent putting my lily seeding flats out of the greenhouse into the cruel world where they will most likely die so I know I will never be starting these. I need all the greenhouse space to pot up plants and bulbs that will sell NOW, due to heavy losses the last few years I realize this is not a sustainable business in this state and there won't be a next year.
The photo is PFC.
