Mike, I only have the two large Vanda and have had those two for 8 years. I don't pamper my two at all. They get watered and fertilized when all my other (mostly Cattleya Alliance) orchids do. Last year both of them bloomed three times, resting in the fall/winter. They are both in bloom now.

I don't plan on growing any other Vanda though. Every year I tell myself I should sell the two I have. They simply take up too much room in my greenhouse (now they go into my solarium). Thus it is a space issue with me. I try to never expose those Vanda to temperatures below 60F, but both got numerous early mornings in the mid to lower 50's this spring and it did not seem to bother then at all. Of course, mature plants seem to take a lot more "neglect" than seedlings do.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
