Terri, there are other examples of people entering these kinds of events. Here's one:

It looks like they're using the start date and end date for the event, even though they are months apart. I would just add in the description something like "Hours vary, please check event website" and then be sure to include the link to the Botanical Gardens page where people can then look at the exact day they want to visit.
