I did leave it there and checked back periodically. Eventually it was gone, and there was a tiny hole on the other side of the bud, but I didn't catch him quite in the act. Tracey, yes, I need a nanny cam. Whatever it is has done this to lilies all over the garden. Nothing's really damaged except the flower that gets the swiss cheese treatment.
